Dung Nguyen is our own graphics wizard who has been part of dozen of mobile projects. Dung made this handy guide for all those who are ready publish their iOS app to the app store and are wondering about the graphical assets needed for the process.
After a huge amount of work finally the time comes: the application is already finished! Congratulations to everyone who took part in the process! Now it’s time for you or your team to submit your app to the App Store, however we are frequently asked about what kind of graphic resources are required. So we list out all needed resources, these are final necessary touch for your app. In fact, three first assets are the most important, the rest are either optional or nice-to-have assets which however often get overlooked by developers.
Every app need a app icon and a launch file or image. In addition, some apps need custom icons to represent app-specific content, functions, or models in navigation bars, tools bars, and tab bars.

Beside all of the mentioned assets, you probably also need to prepare a background and title treatment artwork in case your app get featured. This is huge chance to maximise marketing with dedicate banner space on the App store, so make sure your artwork is awesome enough to catch people attention.
Last but not least, don’t forget preview screenshots for the App Store. All images should be hi-def JPEG or PNG, no status included. One screenshot is required, up to four additional screenshots can be uploaded.
